HTET Cat- 3: Lecturers Qualifications, Structure and Content

Category 3: Lecturers
Minimum Qualification:

Lecturer in (i) English, (ii) Hindi, (iii) Economics, (iv) Geography, (v) Sanskrit, (vi) Home Science, (vii) Physics, (viii) Commerce, (ix) Sociology, (x) Psychology, (xi) Physical Education (xii) Punjabi, (xiii) Urdu:-
  1. Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university
  2. Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.
(xiv) Lecturer in History
  1. M.A. History or Ancient Indian History and Culture and Archaeology with atleast 50% marks from recognized university
  2. Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post
  3. Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.
(xv) Lecturer in Political Science
  1. M.A. Political Science or Public Administration with atleast 50% marks from a recognized university
  2. Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.
(xvi) Lecturer in Biology
  1. M.Sc. Biology or Zoology or Botany or Bio-Science or Bio-Chemistry or Genetics or Micro-Biology or Plant Physiology or Bio-Technology with atleast 50% marks from a recognized university
  2. Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.
(xvii) Lecturer in Chemistry
  1. M.Sc. Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry with atleast 50% marks from a recognized university
  2. Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.
(xviii) Lecturer in Maths
  1. M.A./M.Sc. Math/Mathematics Statistics with atleast 50% marks from a recognized university
  2. Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.
Note: Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at Post Graduate Level is admissible for Schedule Caste and Differently abled candidates.

Scheme/Structure and Content:
There shall be only one paper in this category. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.

Nature and Standard of Questions:
  • The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group of 14-17 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
  • The test items for language I (Hindi) will focus on the proficiency related to the medium of instruction relevant to the age group of 14-17 years.
  • The Language II (English) will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities relevant to the age group of 14-17 years.
  • The test items in subject specific will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects. The test items shall be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed for classes IX-XII by the Board of School Education Haryana.
  • The questions in the test will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the Board of School Education Haryana for classes IX-XII but their difficulty standard as well linkages could be upto the Post-Graduate level.
Qualification Marks: 60%
Negative Marking: There shall be no negative marking.
Important Notes (For all Categories):
  1. Candidates studying in final year of the qualifying professional degree which ever is required for eligibility as mentioned in these guidelines/instructions are also eligible to apply for the test. Their candidature by the appointing authority, however, shall be considered only when they have acquired the minimum qualification.
  2. The condition of having pass ‘Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects’ will be applicable at the time of applying for the post of Teacher and not for appearing in the HTET.
